Successful promotion campaigns don't just happen--they must be planned. This page is intended to give you insight into the process prior to discussing it with our consultants, so that we can help you best meet your expectations.
Define the objective. What do you hope to gain from this program? Whether your goal is to increase traffic to your trade show booth or improve company morale, the first step is to clarify the purpose of the program.
Determine the audience. Who are the people you want to reach? Documenting who your audience is, the total population, geographic considerations, your intended reach and what they have in common can quickly bring your program into focus.
Create a budget. How much will it cost to reach your audience and meet your objectives? It is important to be realistic to ensure your expected results are achievable and the program will provide an acceptable return on investment. If not, this is the time to revise your budget or redefine your objective so that they are in agreement.
Plan the distribution. How will you reach your audience and is it the most effective way? A planned and executed distribution plan can significantly increase the effectiveness of your program. For example, a pre-show mailing to a select audience will create more trade show traffic and better-qualified leads than simply distributing items to all passersby.
Develop a central theme. Utilizing a consisted look and feel to all aspects of your campaign--promotional products, sales sheets, packaging, etc.--along with your logo, will help to create a favorable impression of your company and increase your bottom line.
Include a message. A well thought out message that supports your theme better enables prospects to visualize your name, product or service. For example, to promote its services to small businesses, a bank created the theme "Are you tired of being treated like a small fish?" and sent fish-related products to its prospects along with promotional literature.
Select promotional products that fit your audience or theme. It is important that the promotional products you choose fit with your audience or your theme. When selected properly, promotional products can carry on a positive image for years to come.
